It’s Alcohol Awareness Month! During the month of April, we’d like to encourage you to check your habits. Are you content with your alcohol intake? Why or why not? Do you have questions about the health effects of alcohol? Are you familiar with the current guidelines for moderate drinking?
LEAF offers many ways to get educated about alcohol. Read on to find an opportunity that fits your learning style!
LEAF’s professional staff presents informative programs and workshops to service clubs, churches, businesses, schools, and parent groups. Our workshops cover a variety of topics—you can see the current offerings here on our Community Services page. For anyone interested in moderating their alcohol use, we are currently offering a workshop called “The Science of Addiction,” which can help participants understand how and why addictions form. We are also currently offering a workshop called “The Heart of the Matter,” which covers wine and women’s health.
LEAF’s website also houses a free article library with many informative articles about alcohol and other substances. Click here to go to our library and browse by topic.

Roadsters are a special vehicle we use in our Safe Driving workshops! We use these small one-seaters to provide hands-on training and spread awareness about impaired driving.
Safe Driving workshops are ideal for participants aged fourteen and up. The workshops are geared toward pre-drivers, new drivers, and adults.
We can bring the roadsters to schools, community organizations, church youth groups, carnivals, fairs, camps, and more!
Workshops can last from two hours to a full day, depending on how many participants are expected. These workshops are custom, meaning LEAF staff will tailor the material to the audience. Contact us to talk about your specific needs!
LEAF’s programs make use of a product called the Sum-It-Cup®, which helps teach serving size awareness to limit binge drinking. Playing drink-checking games with these cups helps participants visualize how much alcohol a typical drink actually contains.
When you reach out to a LEAF, a staff member can also help direct you to alcohol-specific treatment resources in our area. We have many local connections ready to help your specific situation.
