April is Alcohol Awareness Month! While we are committed to year-round education about substance use, we’d like to draw special attention to alcohol this month.
One of the best ways to combat substance use is through early education. LEAF works with many local school districts to provide educational programming to students. We work with students K–12.
Read on for a sampling of the programs we currently offer.
Teen Intervene is designed specifically for high school students who are experiencing mild to moderate problems associated with alcohol or other drug use. The Teen Intervene program provides education, support, and guidance for teens.
Through this brief intervention, youth work one-to-one with a prevention specialist in identifying and changing their choices and behaviors. Teen Intervene consists of two to three one-on-one sessions with a Prevention Specialist. Parents may be invited to join the last session to address issues as a family.
